A haircut and personal style on EM’s terms

A haircut and personal style on EM’s terms

When EM got home from Strathmore College, he talked to staff about getting his hair braided. Before heading out, he looked up local salons in the area, comparing prices and checking customer reviews.

There were several options to choose from, but EM took his time looking through them and picked the salon himself.

It was a simple part of his routine, but it was something he wanted to take full control of. He picked the salon himself and went to his appointment with staff. He returned home with neatly styled braids and felt proud of his choice.

What started with choosing a salon has grown into something EM now takes an active role in. He makes decisions about his appearance, looks after his hair and nails and recognises what he needs to keep them looking the way he likes. It is lovely to see EM taking the lead in something that is important to him.

For EM, it is about more than simply getting his hair done. It is about having a say in how he looks, making his own choices and taking pride in his personal style.
