When AP was asked where he would like to go on holiday, staff showed him photos of three different places and asked him to choose. He picked Blackpool. When asked what he would like to do while he was there, AP smiled and said he wanted to do “everything”. He also knew he wanted his brother to come with him.
And that is exactly what they did.
Before the holiday, AP was clear about a few things that were important to him. He wanted to spend time on the beach, have his toys with him and, most importantly, have “no tech”. With his choices in mind, staff made sure the trip was planned around the things AP wanted to enjoy.

The beach was one of the first stops, and AP and his brother were excited to see the sea. The tide was high, so staff stayed close and explained why they could not go too far into the water. AP understood and was happy to stay back, watching the waves and the people around them.

They then spent time at the zoo, taking their time as they went around the different enclosures. They saw lions, tigers, flamingos and the panda, with AP asking questions and showing interest as they went.
By the time it was time to leave, neither brother was particularly keen to go. They had clearly enjoyed themselves and wanted to stay a little longer.

A trip to the pier
The following day brought more exploring, including a visit to North Pier and the Tower Circus. At the circus, both brothers stayed interested throughout the show, watching the acrobats and enjoying the comedy. Later, they headed to the arcades, where they found a basketball game. This quickly became one of the highlights of the day.

AP and his brother took turns shooting the basketballs, laughing and enjoying the game together. Whenever they won tickets, they were excited to see them come out. It was the sort of simple fun that can easily become one of the best memories from a holiday.
